| Daisuke Matsuzaka has another rough outing in his 2nd playoff start, and the Yankees take game 1 of the ALCS by the score of 7-3. Matsuzaka didn't make it out of the 6th, allowing an A-Rod double, a Hideki Matsui triple and a Jason Giambi home run in the inning. The Yankees took a 5-1 lead and never looked back. Giambi was the star of the day for the Yankees, going 2 for 4 with 4 RBI. The Red Sox left 14 men on base, and Kevin Youkilis was a big part of that. He made the 3rd out in the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th innings. He left 2 runners on in each of those innings, including a runner at 3rd all 4 times. Red Sox ace Josh Beckett will try to right the ship in game 2 against veteran lefty Andy Pettitte. |
