Josh Beckett pitched 8 strong innings as the incredible Boston Red Sox topped
the Baltimore Orioles in 10 innings by a score of 3 to 2 at Camden
Yards.
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings. Boston came out the
victor in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Jacoby Ellsbury
smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' (his 2nd of the season). Baltimore was
out-hit by Boston, 9 hits to 5.
The win was credited to Mike Timlin(7-0) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Jonathan Papelbon gained credit for his 43rd save. Danys Baez(3-4) ended up
with the loss in relief. He pitched 1/3 of an inning and surrendered 1 hit
and no walks.
