The Florida Marlins edged the Washington Nationals at RFK STADIUM by the score
of 3 to 2.

Florida drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
scoring 2 runs. Hanley Ramirez led off and keyed the rally when he reached
on an error. After an out was recorded, Jeremy Hermida came up and he
doubled resulting in a run. Tim Redding then let one slip out of his hand
for a wild pitch. Miguel Cabrera was up next and he would ground out scoring
the final run of the inning. Washington threatened in the 9th but their
rally came up short.

The victory went to Sergio Mitre(11-6) who went 7 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1
run. Taylor Tankersley recorded his 1st save. Redding(2-4) took the loss.
