| In his last start of the regular season, Josh Beckett certainly doesn't look like someone warming up for the playoffs as he gives up 7 runs over 6 innings and takes his 2nd loss of the season. It is a timely win for the Twins, who gain a game on the 2nd place Indians and now have a 2 game lead in the division with 3 games left. In other AL playoff news, the Indians loss means that the Yankees win the AL wild card, despite a loss today. That means that the Yankees will play the Angels and the Sox will play the central winner. If that's Minnesota, they will end up playing 6 straight games in Fenway Park - 4 regular season, and games 1 and 2 of the ALDS! The NL race holds tight with 4 teams within a game. The Brewers, Cubs, Astros and Mets all won, keeping the Astros and Mets just one game off the pace. |
