Not often that you see matching 5 run innings. The Nats were down 3-0 when they scored 5 runs in the top of the 6th, but the Mets put up 5 in the 8th to retake the lead by 3 runs. That lead would hold and give the Mets a much needed win in their quest for the wild card. The Cubs and Brewers also both won, meaning that they stay tied atop the Central and the wild card race, with the Mets and Astros both tied at 2 games back.

The most interesting part of this game was the cat and mouse in the Mets' 5 run inning over pinch hitters and pitching changes. The Mets used 5 pinch hitters in the inning, 2 of which never took a pitch!
