Eric Gagne still sucks. He allows 3 hits in the 9th with a 3 run lead, the third being a game tying 3-run home run to Delmon Young. Fortunately, an error in the 11th scores Julio Lugo, who had walked and stolen 2nd. The Sox would go on to score 2 more runs, and Jonathan Papelbon would strike out 2 in the bottom of the inning on way to his 46th save.

The Sox should have scored even more than 13 runs in this game - they had 17 hits and were walked an amazing 14 times. Mike Lowell walked 4 times, although 2 were intentional.

Right fielder J.D. Drew homered and had 3 RBI as the seemingly unstoppable
Boston Red Sox defeated the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 11 innings by the score
of 13 to 10 at Tropicana Field.
 
The score was knotted at 10 after nine innings.  Boston won the hard fought
contest in the 11th inning.  Julio Lugo kicked off the action when he drew a
walk.  After an out was recorded, Lugo came to the plate and stole second
base.  Dustin Pedroia then reached on an error knocking in a run.  Royce
Clayton followed and he drew a walk.  Mike Lowell stepped into the box and
laced a one-base hit scoring another run.  Drew added to the outburst and
drew a walk to load the bases.  Jason Varitek came to the plate and hit a
sacrifice fly scoring the final run of the inning.  For the game Boston
out-hit Tampa Bay 17 to 10.  
 
Manny Delcarmen(4-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Jonathan
Papelbon got the save, his 46th.  Scott Dohmann(0-2) was hit with the loss in
relief.  He was knocked around, surrendering 3 runs in 2 innings.
