The Nationals magic number stays at 4, as the Mets get the win in extra innings. The Nationals missed a golden opportunity in the 9th when they got runners to 2nd and 3rd with two out for Ryan Zimmerman. Zimmerman was intentionally walked with the pitcher due up, so I pinch hit with Brian Schneider who hits a fly ball for the third out. In the 10th, Jose Reyes leads off with a triple against Luis Ayala, scores on a ground ball, then David Wright hits a home run to make it a 3 run lead that would hold up. Billy Wagner gets the three outs in the bottom of the inning for his 37th save.

David Wright hit one over the fence and had 3 RBI as the New York (NL) Mets
defeated the Washington Nationals in 10 innings 7 to 4 at RFK STADIUM.

The game was deadlocked at 4 after nine full innings. New York (NL) came out
the victor in the 10th inning. Jose Reyes kicked off the action when he
tripled. Luis Castillo stepped into the batter's box and he would hit into a
fielders choice bringing in a run. Luis Ayala then was wild with a pitch.
Wright was up next and he blasted a two-run home run (his 26th of the
season). The Washington bats were silent in the bottom of the 10th.

Pedro Feliciano(12-5) was the winner allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning.
Billy Wagner got the save, his 37th. Ayala(3-3) took the loss in relief.
