| The Nationals make easy work of the Cubs in the 8-2 game 1 win. The Nationals batted around in the first and chased Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano from the game with 6 hits and 5 runs. That was all Matt Chico would need, as he pitches 5 shoutout innings before tiring in the 6th and giving up a couple runs. The Nats bullpen took over at that point and coasted to the eventual 8-2 win. Every hitter in the Nats lineup had a hit with the exception of Nook Logan, who still scored the 1st run of the game thanks to a leadoff walk. Ted Lilly of the Cubs will face Shawn Hill of the Nats in game 2. |
