| Deuces were wild in this game, as all the runs were scored in pairs. The Blue Jays got 2 in the top of the 1st, which the Red Sox countered in the bottom of the inning. The Blue Jays came back with 2 in the 2nd (on back to back homers from Aaron Hill and Gregg Zaun) which gave them a 2 run lead that would hold until the 5th. The Sox got 2 in the bottom of the 5th to tie it, then broke the tie in the 8th when Dustin Pedroia knocked in 2 with what else, a 2 base hit. Jonathan Papelbon shut down the Blue Jays in the 9th for his 41st save. Mike Timlin got his 6th win against no losses; Timlin has shown a remarkable knack for being the pitcher of record when the Sox come back in the late innings. |
