| Despite a shaky first inning in which he gave up 2 runs, the Red Sox get exactly what they need out of Curt Schilling in this doubleheader nightcap - 7 strong innings with just the 2 runs given up. Mike Lowell gives the Red Sox the lead in the 4th with a 3 run homer off Chicago starter John Danks, and the Sox add 2 more in the 6th when they load the bases off Mike Myers then get 2 gift walks once Mike Macdougal enters. The Sox only need 2 pitchers out of the 'pen to finish the game, so Hideki Okajima ends up being the only one who has to pitch both games of the doubleheader. Kyle Snyder didn't pitch in either, but that's because he sucks and both games were close. The Sox have played 3 doubleheaders this year and swept all 3. |
