The Red Sox win their 9th straight and complete a 4 game sweep of the Angels with a comeback win. The Sox scored single runs in the 7th, 8th and 9th. In the 7th, they pulled within a run when Manny Ramirez singled, advanced to third on a Mike Lowell single, then scored on a wild pitch. In the 8th, they tied the game when Julio Lugo led off with a walk, stole 2nd, then scored on a Dustin Pedroia double. In the 9th, Manny led off with a double, Mike Lowell flied out, but Jason Varitek singled to score Manny with the game winner.

In an exciting finish the sizzling Boston Red Sox pulled out a win over the
Los Angeles(AL) Angels by a score of 6 to 5 at Fenway Park.

The game was won by Boston with a run in the 9th inning. Manny Ramirez
doubled. After an out was recorded, Jason Varitek stepped in and he stroked
a one-base hit making Boston the victor and beginning a joyous home town
celebration. Boston totaled 12 hits on the afternoon.

Mike Timlin(4-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. Francisco
Rodriguez(1-4) absorbed the loss in relief. Boston extended their winning
streak to 9 games. Terry Francona held court after the contest, 'Everything
is coming up aces right now. It is important for our team to ride this wave
as long as we can. Every win is important.'
