| A Dave Roberts steal leads to the winning run in a comeback, extra innings victory. Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS? Yes, but also this game. The Nats got absolutely shut down over the first 6 innings by Barry Zito, who was perfect until a 6th inning walk to Nook Logan. Ronnie Belliard broke up the no-no with a single to lead off the 7th, then was followed by a Ryan Zimmerman double and a Dmitri Young single to knock in 2 runs. This gave the Nats a 2-0 lead, but Ray King gave one back in the bottom of the 7th and closer Chad Cordero blew it again by allowing a run in the bottom of the 9th. In the Giants 10th, Billy Traber got the first 2 outs but then allowed a single to Barry Bonds. The Giants pinch run with Dave Roberts, who steals 2nd and then scores from 2nd on a Bengie Molina single. |
