Center fielder Coco Crisp cracked a homer and had 4 RBI at Tropicana Field as
the indomitable Boston Red Sox beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 11 innings 13
to 12.
The game was deadlocked at 12 after nine full innings. Boston won the hard
fought contest in the 11th inning. J.D. Drew doubled. One out later, Crisp
came up and he hit a deep fly scoring the run. Boston won despite being
out-hit by Tampa Bay 16 hits to 12.
Kyle Snyder(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.
Jonathan Papelbon was credited with his 31st save. Al Reyes(1-1) was hit
with the loss in relief. He was not very effective, surrendering 3 runs in 2
innings.
