He threw shutout ball until tiring in the 7th, while the Nats put up 6 runs for him to work with. The offense was led by Austin Kearns, who hit a 2 run homer in the 2nd and contributed an RBI single in the 4th. The Nats were also helped by the poor fielding of Astros 3B Mike Lamb, who committed an error that helped lead to Nats runs in both the 4th and 5th innings. |

At RFK STADIUM the Houston Astros were battered 6 to 1 by the Washington
Nationals.
Washington took the lead for keeps in the 2nd inning as they scored 2 runs on
