The Red Sox end up with a series split with Toronto after taking the final game of the 4-game series by a 3-0 score. Josh Beckett wins his 15th game without a loss with 7 shutout innings. That surpasses another hard-throwing Texan who won 14 games for the Red Sox in 1986 before being dealt his first loss of the season.

Despite a relatively low pitch count, Beckett started to tire in the 7th and gives way to Hideki Okajima and Jonathan Papelbon, who make it look easy in preserving the shutout. David Ortiz' 2 run homer in the first was all the offense the Sox would need, although they would add a run in the 4th on an RBI double from Doug Mirabelli.

loss, Toronto has a record of 4-6 lately, 44-47 overall.
