Cole Hamels took a no-hitter into the 8th inning, when Kelly Shoppach broke it up with a home run. That would be the only hit the Indians got.

This is the 10th straight win for the Phillies, who are now tied for 3rd with the Nationals in the NL East at 3 games back. The Marlins are 2.5 back in 2nd, while the Braves are in last but are just 3.5 back. I think the Phillies are the only team in the division who actually has been playing well. Ryan Howard has been the hottest player, with 9 home runs over the 10 game winning streak.

Cole Hamels carried a no-hitter into the 8th inning at Jacobs Field where the
seemingly unstoppable Philadelphia Phillies beat the Cleveland Indians by the
score of 6 to 1.

Hamels(8-2) was virtually untouchable. He didn't allow much, just 1 hit and 1
walk in 9 innings. Hamels mowed down 13 Cleveland batters. The left-handed
Hamels had his no-hit bid broken up by Kelly Shoppach who homered with two
outs in the 8th inning. Philadelphia finished with 7 hits in the victory.

The loss was charged to Cliff Lee(1-6). He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings allowing
only 4 hits and no walks. 'We didn't have a whole lot of chances tonight,'
Eric Wedge said. 'Hamels just was too much for our guys.'
