J.D. Drew hit a double in the first and scored the Red Sox first run, but his 2 errors in the 2nd (along with 2 wild pitches from Tim Wakefield) lead to 2 runs and a deficit the Sox would never recover from. Wakefield pitches well, allowing just 4 hits over 7 innings and no earned runs. Unfortunately, the Red Sox don't manage any offense off Matt Morris and fall by the 4-1 score after the Giants add 2 insurance runs in the 9th.

The San Francisco Giants defeated the Boston Red Sox by a score of 4 to 1 at
Fenway Park.

In the top of the 2nd inning San Francisco went on top for good with 2 runs.
After an out was recorded, Bengie Molina got things going when he reached on
an error. One out later, Pedro Feliz stepped up to the plate and he reached
on an error which plated a run. Tim Wakefield then was wild with a pitch.
Wakefield then unleashed a wild pitch scoring the final run of the inning.
That was all the runs Matt Morris(5-6) needed. San Francisco had just 6 hits
for the afternoon.

Jack Taschner was credited with his 2nd save. Wakefield(7-4) suffered the
loss. He was a hard-luck loser as he did not allow an earned run in his 7
innings of work.
