| The final score is deceiving in this one, which was basically all Orioles. The O's batted around in both of the first 2 innings and had an early 9-0 lead. They hit 3 home runs in the 1st off Nats starter Jason Simontacchi. The Nats took advantage of some sloppy Orioles fielding in the late innings to score 3 in the 8th and 2 in the 9th, but could never get the tying run closer than the on deck circle. |

Left fielder Jay Gibbons had 4 hits and 3 RBI at Camden Yards as the Baltimore
Orioles beat the Washington Nationals by the count of 10 to 7.
Baltimore drew first blood jumping out to an early lead in the first inning
when they scored 5 runs on 5 hits. The key at-bat was by Aubrey Huff who
made the crowd happy when he popped a two-run clout over the fence (his 5th
of the season). For the game Baltimore out-hit Washington 17 to 7.
The win went to Jeremy Guthrie(6-2) who allowed 5 runs in 7 and 2/3 innings.
Jamie Walker was credited with his 4th save. Jason Simontacchi(3-3) absorbed
the loss. He served up 3 homeruns in his 1 and 1/3 innings.
