June 12, 2007: Rockies 6 Red Sox 4

The Red Sox welcome the Colorado Rockies to Fenway Park, and the Rockies show their gratitude by taking Tim Wakfield deep twice, including a 3 run shot by Yorvit Torrealba that put the Rockies ahead for good in the 4th. Wakefield ends up going 6 runs but allowing 6 hits and 6 runs. The Sox did bat around in the 3rd and come up with 4 runs, but a 9th inning rally fell short when David Ortiz, representing the go-ahead run, walked to load the bases before Manny grounded out with the bases loaded to end the game.

In a good matchup it was the Colorado Rockies 6, the Boston Red Sox 4 at
Fenway Park.
 
Colorado scored 3 runs in the top of the 4th inning.  After an out was
recorded, Ryan Spilborghs got things going when he slapped a single.  Troy
Tulowitzki came to the plate and drew a walk.  Yorvit Torrealba then rifled a
three-run blast (his 3rd of the season).  Both teams ended up with 9 hits on
the night.  
 
The win went to Aaron Cook(8-5) who allowed 4 runs in 8 innings. Cook got
relief help from Manny Corpas who gained credit for his 7th save.  The loss
was charged to Tim Wakefield(7-3).  
 
'It wasn't my best outing, but I'll take the win' Cook said.
