Yankees beat the Boston Red Sox 6 to 3.

New York (AL) erupted with the game winning runs in the bottom of the 8th
inning as they scored 5 runs on 4 base hits. The key offensive moment was
provided by Abreu who elicited a roar from the hometown fans when he lined a
base-hit which was good for two runs. New York (AL) banged out 8 hits on the
night.

Scott Proctor(4-0) allowed 1 run in 1 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Proctor got relief help from Mariano Rivera who gained credit for
his 8th save. The loss was charged to Brendan Donnelly(2-2) in relief.
