| The Nationals should have saved some of those 24 runs from the previous day, as the Brew Crew evens up the series with a 7-3 win. The grand slam played a key role in this one too but this time for the opposition, as Gabe Gross hits a bases-loaded jack in the 3rd inning that would prove to be the winning margin. For the record, Gabe Gross is no relation to former Phillie Greg Gross. Jason Simontacchi takes the loss in his Nats debut, which was also his first appearance in the majors since 2004. Some bright spots for the Nats were Robert Fick's 3 for 4 day in a rare start, and the continued hot streaks of Cristian Guzman (2 for 5) and Nook Logan (2 for 4), both of whom recently returned from the DL. |

At Miller Park the Milwaukee Brewers tallied 5 runs in the 3rd inning and
easily handled the Washington Nationals by the score of 7 to 3.
The Milwaukee fans enjoyed the offense provided by Gabe Gross. He slapped a
base-hit in the 2nd inning, caught a hold of a fastball for a Grand Slam
homerun (his 2nd of the season) in the 3rd inning and slapped a single in the
5th inning. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was
able to score again.
The winning pitcher was David Bush(4-2) who allowed 3 runs in 7 and 2/3
innings. Francisco Cordero earned his 11th save. Jason Simontacchi(0-1) was
tagged with the loss. He gave up 5 runs in 3 innings of work.
