The Red Sox get the win in game 1 of a 3 game homestand against the Orioles. The big bats were the difference in this one, with a 3 run Manny homer in the 1st and a solo shot from Big Papi in the 2nd. O's starter Brian Burres calmed down after the early trouble, but it was too little too late as Julian Tavarez and the Sox bullpen hold on for the 5-2 win. Burres surprisingly gets left in for the complete game loss, throwing 143 pitches.

The game started off with Boston taking the lead in the first when they
